Boat Van: the roofening 4


Some sealant and pop-rivet work was done today. I also got the rear of the middle roof panel attached (test fitted, not sealed or pop riveted); and made a parts to join the remaining ribs. Keep in mind the roof panels sit on TOP of the installed side, so the rib-joins will look a little goofy due to panel thickness offset. There are also 3mm thick sound deadening mats that need to be removed in places to form a better join. These are made from some sort of magical bitumen goop that really doesn't want to release from the steel panels. I'm going to try a large paint scraper tomorrow, then switch to the flapper disc on the angle grinder if that fails.
