Over Nine Thouusaaaannnddd !! (pushups)

So 300 push-ups per day for 30 days is a thing. I decided to give it a shot because there's no genuine reason not to try.

I started with sets of 25 spread throughout the day. 300 total each day. Increasing the set sizes by one each day. In theory, I'd be doing sets of 55 push ups by the end of the month.

My shoulders were frustrating me after the 38-sets day. So I dropped back to sets of 30, with ONE set of the prescribed increment. This is waaaaaaaaaay easier. 30 is nothing. These are real, full range, proper push-ups. No cheats. Good form. Go Pro.

So today I tried one set of fifty and did that successfully.

Milestone achieved...twelve days remaining in the month for bigger things.

ps: I'm 43 yrs old. Yes I can do one handed push ups. No I haven't tried hand stand push ups, but I'm on the way there.
Set yourself a goal. It could be less. It could be more. Give it a shot. The only result can be insight (learning if you fail at the goal, or higher goal setting if you succeed easily) and improvement (personal health at any level). Nothing else. Why deny yourself that?

Hydraulic Robot Arm

Garrick got a cool robot arm reminiscent of the Armatron for Christmas here: He finally finished it in MAY !!! :D We pulled out the old toys that came with the Armatron for moving around, and gave them a spin on the new hydraulic arm. It's pretty awesome!

Window frame work area

The entertainment area at our back door isn't my thing. It's kinda open and exposed. The rain always washes in and anything you thought was going to stay dry just doesn't.

...So I kept my eye out on Gumtree.com.au for some free awning windows to encase the area. I got one from Sim n Tari from a renovation project they did, and another four from a dude on Gumtree. I still have to do some more sanding and staining, including some flashing work to cover up some joinery that's exposed, but overall it's getting there. I found an old trolley wheel on hard-rubbish and turned it into a jockey wheel for one of the windows which is mounted on some large gate hinges. Worked out pretty well. Will get around to latches soon enough.

I have a nice lil' workshop in there now!! Stuff will stay dry, and I can still get large tables/projects in and out through the massive gate doorway. The entire thing can be lifted off the hinges and removed if required. Very pleased. Xave is already trying out the work space!! :D

**Update**

I need to get some flashing over the joinery.
I scrounged some thin plastic sheeting from work. We get all kinds of materials from suppliers as protective layers between a pallet and it's stock. Usually cardboard or corflute, but sometimes expensive melamine, nice ply, or MDF. I got lucky with this plastic sheeting, it'll work great as flashing.
It chips out badly on the table saw. Had to cut this with scissors. Hands pretty worn out after 4x2.4m strips.
Came up looking pretty good.

Easter 2017 Holiday to Warnambool.

We went on down to Warnambool for our School Holidays at Easter this year. We did the usual stuff. Bike rides along the beach trail. Some kayaking, beach loafing and walking. Pizza, hotdogs, pancakes. Played on the HUUUGE playground there. Some minigolf. Did the maritime museum. Had a fun 4 days. The campground was deserted because we went during the 1st week of school holidays rather than the actual Easter long weekend. Costs about 1/3rd, and all the facilities are ours to use!!

We found a dead boy on our beach towels when we got back from Kayaking. He was smothered in our snacks so we're pretty sure he died happy...
