--------2011 Sprinter sold 2023 -------------------------

Hi guys!! I'm selling my 2011 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 416 CDI LWB HIGH ROOF 2.1L Turbo Diesel Automatic Campervan. Note this vehicle conversion is VASS certified and registered with VicRoads as a Campervan. It is not just a transport vehicle with a bunch of stuff thrown in the back by some dude... You won't get unstuck when you insure this vehicle.

If you haven't driven a modern automatic turbo diesel before, you're in for a treat. The sprinter is an absolute dream to drive. This is not a lumbering motorhome holding everyone up on the freeway. Give it the onion and leave those turkeys behind with the factory cruise control.

I designed this build with myself and the Mrs in mind for long tours. A grey-nomad vehicle. Did you notice the KING SIZE bed?? (King futon included in the sale, it's packed away and absent from some images) Yes the bed is full van width, sleeping length ways luxury. No bed-to-table conversion shenanigans. No sleeping sideways like a pill bug. The bed and table are always ready to go. The automotive seats for dining are absolutely luxurious to sit in, and leave those foam pillows from every other camper for dead. Try and adjust the lumbar support at the dining chair in other vans!!

"The shed" under the bed is 900mm tall and suits my pushbike stored vertically with the front wheel quick-removed. You might notice sliding doors under the bed through to the main cabin. They give huge access from the kitchen to a monster chest-fridge if you decided to install yours under there, or I actually poke my kayaks through those doors for transport. Your quick access hatch for water refills hides in the shed so you don't have clowns throwing dirt in your water from outside the vehicle. At the back door you'll also find your electrical control panel with everything fused, and two spare anderson plug outlets. If you're at a powered site you can also plug straight into the inverter-pass-through cable from here. Super handy.

The build is intended for 100% electric appliances with a 3000W inverter and four x 80AH Deep Cycle AGM batteries for a total of 320AH capacity. There's even space for two more batteries in the battery tray in back. The battery bank charges from two 250W cells installed on the roof, and is supplemented by a VSR so you're always charging when driving; even if it's cloudy. Ditch the gas and plug in your favourite air-fryer or electric kettle. You might notice the empty space next to the kitchen sink is ready to drop in an upright camp fridge.

At the end of a long day hiking rinse off in a hot shower from the 240v/12v 10L water heater, and enjoy a great bush camping experience at those locations that demand grey-water-storage with an ample 45L fresh, and 45L grey water storage tank. (please note the blue 30L tub in photos is just my spare water)

Warm white lighting throughout is dimmable from each respective location, with 12V and USB charging from the shed and the dining table. Reversible fan skylights provide excellent ventilation over the bed and in the shower cubicle.

Ditch the melamine and plastic builds. Come enjoy a real campervan.

regards, - Jared. :)

ps: Vehicle includes workbook history. Sale will include the next 3-month-Rego cycle paid for, and RWC. Please allow up to 2 weeks for RWC booking pending available inspection slots.

Brief van update

Been busy with the van build and getting Garrick out the door to boot-camp. He's gobbling up the challenges so that's great.

A quick and dirty phone-cam video below to show where the van build is currently at. It is NOT a detailed nor pretty video to watch. The build should be wrapped up within the next week. There's always more to do but I'm putting a hard completion on it pretty soon.

Garrick's body destroyer hike test session.

Garrick and I scouted out a route and trial run for his 15km hike with 40kg load. We tried 10kg(Dad) and 15kg(Garrick) weights as trial starting points and shot off to Lysterfield. We did a few laps 'till we did the distance in the time. 15km's between 2h30m to 2h45m. We hit 2h38m, right in between the goal times with a short break to bandaid a blister and hit the toilets (while the timer kept running). We took sammiches, crackers, cheese, mars bars n drink.

I borrowed Dave's 10kg vest and Garrick took my weights-plates backpack with 15kg load. Garrick did really well. His only complaint was some foot discomfort, this afternoon he's pulling up really well. My body on the other hand is absolutely ruined. I actually died. I'm writing this from the grave. The 10kg vest I borrowed seemed a little heavy, it felt wrong every time I lifted it. I couldn't shake the feeling, I'm wrecked after doing the hike. I started weighing the sand-bags from the vest and they're 900grams each. There's 20 of them... With the vest weight it's clearly a 20kg pack! :( No wonder I died. I'm crushed that I sent Garrick with only 15kg. :(

Lots of Roo packs out. Many 1yr old lil' ones about with their mums, some late season critters in pouches still. Fun hike. We'll bump up the weight for Garrick next time.

Mindy sent a great photo of Oreo. :)
